Make Each Day Count

Updated: Sep 14, 2023

Surrounding yourself with people who elevate you is an important concept for personal and professional growth. Let's discuss the value and how you can set yourself up to grow and help others grow as well.

Positive Influence: Being around people who inspire and motivate you can have a profound impact on your mindset and outlook on life. Their positivity and drive can encourage you to set higher goals and work harder to achieve them.

Learning Opportunities: When you surround yourself with people who are more knowledgeable or skilled in areas you're interested in, you have the chance to learn from them. Whether it's gaining new skills, knowledge, or insights, these interactions can be incredibly beneficial.

Supportive Network: Elevating people are often supportive and encouraging. They can provide emotional support during challenging times and help you stay focused on your goals.

Increased Confidence: Being around people who believe in your abilities can boost your self-confidence. Their belief in you can help you overcome self-doubt and take on new challenges with more confidence.

Networking: Elevating people can also introduce you to their networks, which can open up new opportunities for collaboration, career advancement, and personal growth.

Here are a few ways to surround yourself with people who elevate you.

Assess Your Current Relationships: Take a close look at your current social and professional circles. Identify individuals who inspire and uplift you and those who may have a negative or draining influence.

Set Clear Goals: Define your personal and professional goals. Identify the types of people who can help you achieve those goals or who share similar aspirations.

Seek Out Elevating Relationships: Attend networking events, workshops, and conferences related to your interests and goals. Join clubs or organizations that align with your passions. These are great places to meet like-minded individuals.

Be Open and Approachable: Be open to meeting new people and building connections. Approach conversations with a genuine interest in getting to know others and their perspectives.

Invest Time and Effort: Building meaningful relationships takes time and effort. Invest in these connections by staying in touch, offering help when you can, and being a supportive friend or colleague in return.

Maintain Healthy Boundaries: While it's essential to surround yourself with elevating people, it's also important to maintain healthy boundaries and prioritize self-care. Avoid toxic or one-sided relationships that drain your energy.

Be an Elevating Person Yourself: Remember that it's a two-way street. Be the kind of person who elevates others as well. Share your knowledge, offer support, and provide encouragement to those in your network.

Remember that the people you surround yourself with have a significant impact on your life. Choose your relationships wisely, and strive to cultivate a positive and uplifting circle of friends, mentors, and colleagues.

Every day is a chance to live, grow, move, see, smell, listen to music, accomplish, succeed, eat, love, have fun and accomplish things. I prefer to be around people who fill me with hope, wonder, ideas, positivity, desires, dreams, love, laughs and fun. It's not because they are better people. It's because I feel better when I am with positive people.

Life is tough. I want to share it with those that lift my spirits and remind me that each day is a chance to live and make a difference. I want to enjoy every moment possible. Life is way too short for anything else.

How about you? I would love to know what you think, reach out any time.
